Phishing Alert Option - CCAC's Inbox Feature

When reporting a Phishing or Suspicious email you are unsure of, use the Phishing Alert Option. The option will look like the image to the left. This option will report it to the Cyber Security team, as well as remove the email from your inbox. 

Can't Find the Button?

Check in the “App” panel to see if the phishing button is there. 

 
 

Outlook Desktop Application

Office Plus 2019

  1. Click on the email you want to report
  2. Click Phishing Alert option
  3. The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button
  4. Click the blue Ok button
  5. The email will automatically removed
 
 

Microsoft 365

  1. Click on the email you want to report
  2. Click Phishing Alert Report option
  3. The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button
  4. Click the blue Ok button
  5. The email will automatically removed
 
 

New Outlook 

  1. Click on the email you want to report
  2. Click Phishing Alert option
  3. The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button   
  4. Click the blue Ok button
  5. The email will automatically removed
 
 
 
 

Outlook through a Web Browser

Desktop 

  1. Open the email you want to report
  2. Click the Phish Alert option
  3. A window will pop open, click the blue Report Phishing button
  4. The email will be automatically removed and reported to the Information Security team
  5. You will receive an email regarding the status of your report
    1. Note: This may not be instantaneous
 
 

Mobile & CCAC Go App

Option Not Available

There is no option available to report a phishing message on a mobile browser or within the CCAC Go app. 
 

We recommend using the Outlook mobile app for accessing email on a mobile device.

If you do not want to install the Outlook mobile app, follow the steps below to use the “Report Junk” option instead. 

 
  1. Open the email you want to report
  2. Tap the ellipsis (...)

     
     
  3. Select Mark as junk
  4. The email will be moved to your junk folder

Two Methods to Report Phishing

There are two ways to report phishing using the Outlook mobile application. You may choose either option.
Click the tabs to view the steps for each. 

 

Phishing Alert Option

  1. Open the email you want to report
  2. Click the 3 dots ... in the header of the email (below the date/time stamp)
     
  3. Tap the Phish Alert option
  4. Tap the blue Report Phishing button
  5. Tap the blue Ok button
  6. The email will automatically removed   
 
 

Report Junk Option

  1. In the suspicious email, tap the ellipsis menu
  2. Tap Report Junk
  3. Tap Phishing
  4. A Reported banner will appear at the bottom of the screen
