Reporting a Phishing/Suspicious Email in Outlook for Students
Outlook/OWA
- From the suspected email, click the drop down arrow and select Report phishing
- You will get a confirmation box, click OK

- You will then see a “Thanks for reporting” pop-up, click OK

Info
This process will send the email to Microsoft and provide the Information Security Team with analysis on the email. You will get an email back stating the status of the email.
Note: this response is not instantaneous

- In the suspicious email, tap the ellipsis menu

Phishing Alert Option - CCAC's Inbox Feature
When reporting a Phishing or Suspicious email you are unsure of, use the Phishing Alert Option. The option will look like the image to the left. This option will report it to the Cyber Security team, as well as remove the email from your inbox
Outlook Desktop Application
Office Plus 2019
- Click on the email you want to report
- Click Phishing Alert option
- The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button
- Click the blue Ok button
- The email will automatically removed
Microsoft 365
- Click on the email you want to report
- Click Phishing Alert Report option
- The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button
- Click the blue Ok button
- The email will automatically removed
New Outlook
- Click on the email you want to report
- Click Phishing Alert option
- The window will open, click the blue Report Phishing button
- Click the blue Ok button
- The email will automatically removed
Outlook App
- Open the email you want to report
- Click the 3 dots ... in the header of the email (below the date/time stamp)
- Tap the Phish Alert option
- Tap the blue Report Phishing button
- Tap the blue Ok button
- The email will automatically removed
Outlook Online via Web Browser
Desktop & Tablets (Large Screen)
- Open the email you want to report
- Click the Phish Alert option
- A window will pop open, click the blue Report Phishing button
- Click the blue OK button
- The email will automatically removed
Smartphone (Smaller Screen)
Option Not Avalaible
It is recommended to use the Outlook App.
