If you have multiple accounts in Outlook, when you compose a new email message, Outlook picks the default account as the From account. However, if you want to Reply, Reply All, or Forward a message, Outlook will send your message with the same account the original mail was sent to.

Best Practice

  • If you want to send a new message or bulk send, you should open the email profile in Outlook and use that email profile and not choose from the From field option. Adding another Profile to Outlook
  • This also will ensure you do not send on "Behalf Of"

Warning

You can add any address, you may not have access to send from that account.

  1. From a new email in the Outlook Application
  2. Choose the drop-down in the From button
  3. Choose Other Email Address...
  4. Use the From... button to pull the address book or if you know the email address, type it
  5. Click the OK button
  6. The email address will be available to choose in the drop-down
  7. The email listed in will be where the email is sent from or on Behalf of or if you do not have access, it will not send
