What you need to know before beginning
On the Left-hand side of your laptop there will be a slot to plug the docking cable into the laptop. There is a lightning bolt ⚡ symbol beside the slot.
- With the laptop open, take the docking station cable and plug it into the laptop
- An "Approve Thunderbolt Device" window will appear on the screen

Expand the dropdown and choose "Always Connect"
- Click the Ok button
- After 15 seconds the dock will begin to connect the devices to your laptop, such as the monitor, mouse and keyboard
- You can then close your laptop lid
