What is a Spam filter? 

Spam filters are used to detect unsolicited and unwanted email and prevent those messages from getting to your inbox. CCAC uses the Outlook Spam Filter, which automatically detects unwanted messages based on user created rules, sender reputation, email patterns, and other factors. Sometimes an email you may be expecting might get sorted as spam, don't worry! You will be able to look at your blocked emails at any time by going to the Junk Email folder in Outlook and you can set the spam filter to never block emails from that sender using the instructions below.

 

Where to find your emails marked as spam

Emails marked as spam can be found in the Junk Email folder in the navigation pane of Outlook.

How to whitelist emails marked as spam

  1. Right click the email in the Junk Email folder you would like not to have categorized as junk.
  1. Hover your mouse over the Block option in the right click menu. 
  1. Click on Never block sender
 
 

How to block emails as spam or junk

  1. In your Outlook Inbox right click on the email you want categorized as spam or junk
  1. Hover your mouse over the Block option in the right click menu.  
  1. Click on Block sender
