Note

If you have issues accessing your academic VM, please contact your instructor. If your instructor is unable to assist, please contact the ServiceDesk.

If you do not already have the GlobalProtect agent on your device, please follow the instructions, Downloading the GlobalProtect Agent and Connecting. You must connect to GlobalProtect before accessing your academic VM when not on campus. 

If you connect to your academic VM while on campus, you will not need to connect to GlobalProtect first.

Downloading the GlobalProtect Agent and Connecting

GLobalProtect for MAC

  1. In a browser window, go to https://academicvpn.ccac.edu 
  2. Enter your CCAC NetID and CCAC Password
  3. Click LOG IN
  4. Click Download MAC 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent
  5. Depending on the browser used, your download file will appear 
    1. If asked, click Allow to download
  6. Once the download is complete, open the installer file
  7. At the GlobalProtect installation screen, click Continue
  8. Leave the Destination as your hard drive, and then click continue
  9. Check the box for GlobalProtect Install, then click Continue
  10. Click Install
  11. Once the software installs, click Close
  12. Go into System Preferences
  13. Under the Security and Privacy tab, click Allow
    1. You may not need to allow depending on your version of Mac OS or your security settings
  14. Navigate to Launchpad (Icon may vary depending on your IOS)
  15. Locate the GlobalProtect Application
  16. You may be asked to enter the portal address: academicvpn.ccac.edu
  17. Click Connect
  18. Sign on using your CCAC NetID and CCAC Password
  19. Once logged in, you will get a popup that you are connected
 
 

GlobalProtect for Windows PC

  1. In a browser window, go to https://academicvpn.ccac.edu 
  2. Enter your CCAC NetID and CCAC Password
  3. Click LOG IN
  4. Click Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent
  5. Navigate through the installation wizard, clicking the Nextbutton


  6. Clock Close at the Installation Complete Screen
  7. Open the GlobalProtect software
  8. Enter the Portal address: academicvpn.ccac.edu
  9. Click the OK Button
  10. Sign on using your CCAC NetID and CCAC Password and click Connect
  11. You will see a shield once the VPN is connected

Accessing Academic VMs

  1. If not currently on a CCAC campus connect to the academicvpn.ccac.edu portal using GlobalProtect 
  2. Go to https://so-cit-vcsa-01.ccac.org/ui/
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Click the link to proceed to the site
  5. Enter your CCAC NetID and CCAC Password
  6. Click LOGIN
  7. Click the menu expansion arrows until the VMs are displayed
  8. Find your VM (your VM will begin with your NetID) in the list and click it
    • You will only be able to power on and manipulate your own VM
  9. Click Power On
  10. Click LAUNCH WEB CONSOLE
  11. The Web Console will launch in a new tab
