The Change to eFax
As part of our effort to modernize communications, CCAC is transitioning from traditional fax machines to email-based eFax. This guide explains how the new system works and provides step-by-step instructions.
Key Features of Our New eFax System
· Easy to use – Works directly through email.
· Flexible & Accessible – No fax machine required. All staff and students can send faxes through their CCAC email.
· Receive faxes via email – Departments with a pre-assigned fax number can receive faxes to their secure email group.
· Safe & Secure – Encrypted transmission for sensitive documents.
How to Send a Fax
1. Compose your email:
- In the "To:" field, enter the country code 1, then the recipient's fax number followed by "@egoldfax.com" (ex. 15551234567@egoldfax.com).

2. Customize your fax cover sheet:
- Type your desired message in the body of the email. This will be included as the cover sheet for the fax.

3. Attach your document(s):
- If you have a digital document to send, attach it to your email.
- Supported file types include Word, Excel, PDF, TIFF, JPEG, and PNG.
- Note: Larger documents, especially with many images, will be much slower to send.

4. Send the email:
- Click "Send" to send your email.
- The email will be converted to a fax transmission and sent to the fax number in the subject.
5. Confirmation:
- If your fax was unsuccessful, you will receive a return email indicating the fax was not successful.
- Check that the fax number is correct and that you followed all previous instructions before trying again.
How to Receive a Fax
Fax numbers are assigned to departmental email distribution groups.
If you need added to a distribution group for your department, please have your manager put in a Service Desk ticket to add you.
For Fax Recipients:
- Incoming faxes will arrive as PDF attachments to emails in the department’s fax email group.
- The subject line will include the sender’s fax number.
- Forward or save faxes as needed. No physical printing required.
