View the List of Exemptions:
- Students who submit a high school transcript with an unweighted cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.7 or better (or 80% for schools with a percentile grading system) are exempt from taking the English and Reading placement tests and will be placed in ENG 101, English Composition I.
- Transcript must include the grades from the first half of the senior year in high school or show high school graduation within 5 years of the date the transcript is submitted to be eligible.
- International, home school and GED documentation are not accepted under this exemption. (Effective Spring 2019)
- For high schools that do not have an unweighted GPA, the weighted GPA will be used.
- You already have a college degree.
- You have already taken college-level English and/or mathematics with a grade of "C" or better.
- You plan to register for a class or classes that have no specified skill requirements.
- Students with SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing test score of 510+ or ACT Verbal test scores of 21+ will be exempt from the reading and English placement testing.
- Students who have passed a GED Language Arts test within the last 5 years and have achieved a minimum score of 165 will be exempt from the reading and English placement testing.
- Students with SAT Math test score of 550+ or ACT Math test score of 21+ will be exempt from developmental math courses, but must complete the placement test if intending to take a course above the Intermediate Algebra MAT-108 level.
- Students who have taken the TOEFL or IELTS exams may submit these scores for exemption or placement into English as an Academic Language (EAL) courses.
- A student may re-test for placement out of a course in which he/she was enrolled after four years.
- Once a student has re-tested after four years and scores into the same course(s) for which the student was enrolled, there is no further alternative, regardless of the results.

Reasonable accommodations can be requested for Placement Testing. These accommodations are temporary and for placement testing only. To request temporary accommodations, begin with Step 1 of the Student Intake Process for Students with Disabilities.
Once your accommodations have been determined and approved, the Disability Resources and Services Department will provide those temporary accommodations to the Office of Placement Testing. You may now register for the Math and/or Reading Placement Tests.

- Go to https://www.accuplacer.org/#/systemRequirement to test your computer's requirements for ACCUPLACER
- Go to https://on.examity.com/V5/systemcheck to test your computer's requirements for Examity
NOTE: You may need to allow access to the browser
- Locate the email with the subject “Remote Voucher Notification”
- Within the email, locate the voucher code under the “Voucher Information” section - midway in email.
- From a web browser, log into the Examity's dashboard, use the information you used for creating your Examity Account.
- On the dashboard, click “Enter Your Code +” button
- Enter the Voucher code (from the “Remote Voucher Notification” email) into the code box
- Click the “Submit” button
- You will success screen
- Click the “Close” button
- On the Examity dashboard, click the “Start Exam” button
- The screen will ask you to add the Examity Extension
- Click the "Add Extension" button
- A new window will open, click the “Add to Chrome” button
- A pop-up will appear, click the “Add Extension” button
- Click the “Grant Exam Permissions” button
- From the pop-up, click the “Allow” button
- Click the “Grant Extension Permissions” button
- From the pop-up, click the “Allow” button
- Once everything is approved, click the “Continue” button
- Confirm your identity
- Click the “Use Photo And Continue” button
- Enter the answer to the challenge question
- Click the “Next” button
- Read the exam rules and guidelines
- Scroll to the bottom, click the “I'm Ready” button
- Read the user agreement
- Click the “I agree And I'm Ready….” button
- Click the “Launch” button to begin screensharing
If you have more than one screen, choose the screen that has Examity/ACCUPLACER in the thumbnail
- Allow the browser access, click the “Allow” button
- Read the Side Bar directions, click the “next” button
- Continue reading and click the “Next” buttons until you reach the “Continue To Exam” button, click the button
- Read the Privacy Policy
- Scroll to the bottom, click the “Accept” button
- Click on the down carrot to minimize the proctor window.
NOTE: The proctor is still watching - Look over the information on file and make sure that it is correct.
If it is not, correct it at this time. - Once done, and everything is correct on the screen, click the “Save” button
- Click the “Next” button
- Start the Test/Practice Session, click the "Start Test Session" button
- Click the “Accept” button to accept the term
- Complete the sample sessions
- Once you have finished the sample session questions, the actual test will begin.
- Note the number of questions there are and the amount you have completed
- If you need more space, you can hide the screen share notification. Click the “Hide” text. Do NOT click the “Stop Sharing” button
- Questions that allow a calculator, the calculator button will appear
- Note the number of questions there are and the amount you have completed
- Once you have completed the test you will see the banner
- Click the “Continue” button
- You will be taken to your test results. Click the “OK” button on the browser notification
NOTE: Take a screenshot or print the results. CCAC will receive them automatically.
Your results will be at the middle of the screen in the “Course Placements” section - Open the proctor window, click on the up carrot
- Click the “End Proctoring Session” button
- Click the “End Session” button, to close
- You can close your browser, you have completed the math placement test
After Taking the Test
You must wait 24 business hours before continuing to the next step.
